Emily represents people who are at risk of spending the rest of their lives in prison for crimes that occurred when they were children. Prior to joining LCCR, she represented victims of law enforcement crimes as well as adults facing or serving life sentences. She also worked as an organizer focused on state violence in local and global contexts, including with the Orleans Parish Prison Reform Coalition, New Orleans Palestine Solidarity (NOLAPS), and Safe Streets Strong Communities, an organization focused on police accountability. Emily is also a member of the Board of Directors of Junebug Productions.
Emily received a B.A. in Latin American Studies from Tulane University, where she graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa in 2007. She graduated magna cum laude from Loyola University of New Orleans College of Law in 2013.
