Dr. Walker joined LCCR in September of 2016 as the Campaign Coordinator for the Campaign to End Extreme Sentencing for Youth. She first gained experience advancing progressive policy campaigns as a senior policy associate at Fight Crime: Invest in Kids, a non-profit child advocacy organization based in Washington, D.C. During her four years there, she helped lead the organization’s efforts to achieve legislative, regulatory, and funding victories on issues related to expanding access to community-based services for justice-involved youth. Dr. Walker took a break from policy advocacy to pursue a doctorate in history at New York University, which she earned in May 2016. She also graduated cum laude from Smith College with a B.A. in history and government.
