Prior to her time with the organization, Roberta worked with both system-impacted adults and youth from diverse backgrounds that have suffered from mental ailments and homelessness. She’s most passionate about assisting individuals that are negatively affected by systemic and systematic racism. As both a Licensing and Subsidy Specialist and Community Support Specialist in Cole County, Missouri, she helped address the mental health concerns for individuals in the community, She volunteered at youth homeless shelters, did youth mentoring, and assisted with data collection for a substance abuse program in the community at this time as well.
Ms. Lambert also interned with the Mayor’s Office of Youth and Families in New Orleans, where she was able to participate in developing programs that provide resources to vulnerable populations. She has worked as a Paralegal for both the Missouri State Public Defenders Office and in private practice assisting with the representation of individuals that have experienced discrimination and indigent clients with criminal matters.
In 2022, Roberta was awarded the Unsung Legal Heros Award by the Missouri Lawyers Weekly for her outstanding work as a Paralegal. Ms. Lambert obtained a Masters in Social Work from Tulane University in New Orleans, Masters degrees in Sociology and Criminal Justice from Lincoln University, a graduate certificate in Public Policy from the University of Missouri and undergraduate degrees in Psychology and Business Administration from Columbia College. As a Licensed Master Social Worker with LCCR, she continues her advocacy work for marginalized populations.
