Speak With Youth Justice Experts at LCCR

We recognize the local media as an important avenue for informing the public, amplifying the voices of impacted children and families, and shaping more accurate, nuanced narratives about youth justice.

Whether you’re covering the juvenile legal system, legislation, education, public safety, or related issues, we’d love to be a reliable source. Our experienced attorneys, policy team, and social work staff can provide background and context, firsthand perspectives, policy analysis, data, or connect you with additional experts.

Youth Justice
Language &
Ethics Guide

The Rewriting The Narrative: Youth Justice Language & Ethics Guide is informed by and created in collaboration with youth detained in the Orleans Parish juvenile jail. This publication is part of LCCR’s #ItTakesAVillageNOLA campaign and seeks to create a new narrative for the next generation.

The guidebook offers journalists, reporters, social media influencers, and community members recommendations on how to speak and write about Black New Orleans children with humanity and intention.
