Come Celebrate With Us 2024!

Our lawyers, social workers, and policy advocates work tirelessly in support of our kids all year long. But on this night, we celebrate.

Join us on Thursday, March 21st at our annual benefit event: the Celebration for Children’s Rights.

We’ll be recognizing LCCR’s successes from the past year, when we:

  • Defended the rights of 516 children in New Orleans’ juvenile court, providing them with the supports and services needed to grow up healthy and successfully exit the legal system.
  • Furthered our reach into East Baton Rouge, where our Advanced Advocacy Project served 142 kids and secured a new three-year federal grant to better sustain its work.
  • Gave the opportunity of a second chance to those who were sentenced as children to die in prison — more than 100 juvenile lifers to date (since 2018).
  • Defended against harmful legislation targeting Black youth in the legal system.

We’ll also be presenting our annual Calogero Champion of Justice Award to Ubuntu Village for its incredible work helping families advocate for themselves in New Orleans’ juvenile legal system.

You’re a part of our children’s success! It’s the support of people like you that helps them thrive and leave the legal system behind for good. So come celebrate with us! Click here to RSVP.

This cocktail reception fundraiser will be held on Thursday, March 21 (6-8pm) at The Building, a beautiful art space located at 1427 Oretha Castle Haley Blvd. (just across from the Jazz Market). Business or business casual attire preferred.

While there is no minimum cost, a donation is required to attend.

Don’t wait. RSVP today!
