Anjanae Goins is a writer, educator, and advocate dedicated to deepening understanding, connection, and action in diverse communities by eliminating nuanced communication barriers. Her strategy centers community members’ lived experiences to reframe complex narratives in contexts they can easily recognize, relate to, and connect with.
A perceptive storyteller with an intuitive grasp of how people think, learn, and behave, she has bridged polarizing gaps and united people from opposing sides of the table on social issues like police brutality and educational reform.
Anjanae holds a B.S. in English Education from the University of New Orleans, where she also served as chief editor of Driftwood newspaper. She went on to teach at L.W. Higgins High School and Chalmette High School for four years. Called to make a broader impact on young people beyond the classroom, she shifted her focus toward amplifying the reach of organizations dedicated to social change.
Over the past few years, she has helped mobilize voters for the Devin Davis for Congress campaign, written grant proposals to secure funding for the local youth organization Be Loud Studios, and increased access to equitable housing as the Education Coordinator at the Louisiana Fair Housing Action Center.
She now serves as Communications Manager at the Louisiana Center for Children’s Rights, where she works to shift the narrative and trajectory of youth in the justice system by deepening Louisiana’s understanding, connection, and action around the systemic issues they face—all through strategic communications.
