For his entire adult career, Ronald has been dedicated to advocating for youth and educating young people who come from similar backgrounds. The New Orleans native grew up in the Iberville Housing Developments and is driven daily to create positive change in the lives of New Orleans’ youth by cultivating supportive environments where young people can thrive and realize their potential. Growing up in an impoverished community and facing his own challenges with the legal system, significantly influenced Ronald’s career path and made him realize he had a greater purpose to fulfill.
Ronald believes that LCCR’s advocacy is vital since it confronts systemic injustices, champions the rights and dignity of marginalized groups, raises awareness, drives policy change, and empowers people to assert their rights, which builds “a more equitable society for all” he states. Serving as both an educator and volunteer in his community, he is inspired by the resilience of the children he works with to push for a legal system that truly understands their needs. The Southern University alumnus has a Bachelors in English and Masters in Social Work and interned at New Orleans Municipal Court’s Probation and Parole office for two years. Understanding small wins can lead to even larger victories, Ronald maintains that “each small success reinforces the impact of our work, and the vision of a fairer society for all young people”, which keeps him motivated and committed.
