Ryan Hill

Development Director

Ryan Hill joined the Louisiana Center for Children’s Rights in September 2014 as its first-ever Development Director. He has helped nearly triple LCCR’s budget and double its staff size. He has greatly diversified the organization’s revenue streams by adding several sizeable new multi-year grants (both federal and foundation), securing nearly two dozen new family foundation partnerships, and more than quadrupling LCCR’s individual and corporate support. Ryan also created LCCR’s popular Celebration for Children’s Rights, which has grown from $30,000 raised at the first event to roughly $100,000 today. In 2023-2024, Ryan led LCCR’s efforts to successfully secure a $1 million grant from MacKenzie Scott’s foundation, Yield Giving. Prior to LCCR, Ryan served six years in the fundraising office at the District of Columbia poverty relief nonprofit, Bread for the City—ending his time there in the Associate Director of Development role. At Bread, Ryan helped secure several new six-figure commitments, federal funds for the creation of an urban orchard, and Federally Qualified Health Center Look-Alike certification, which ultimately paved the way for full FQHC status. Ryan is the parent of two young boys who attend public school here in New Orleans. He views all children as our children, and believes that it is our collective responsibility to care for our community’s children and help them thrive.
