Tiye Davis

Policy Director

Tiye Davis (she/her) is a social justice activist, educator, relationship-builder, and problem solver. Working at the intersection of education and justice, she has and continues to amplify, educate, and activate everyday people to take transformative action against every form of injustice. Tiye believes deeply in the power of youth, centering Black voices in all things and resistance in the form of joy. In May 2022, she completed her MBA from Tulane University’s A.B. Freeman School of Business. She holds a Bachelors from Temple University and a Masters from Louisiana College. She is currently the Policy Director at Louisiana Center for Children’s Rights, and prior to that she was the Director of Partnerships at Our Voice Nuestra Voz.

She worked with New Orleans Youth Alliance, Crescent City Corps, TrueSchools, Black
Teachers Collaborative, Teach for America, and Tulane University. She was an adjunct
professor at the School of Architecture at Tulane University. She spent years dedicated to
non-profits by serving on the Board of Directors with Louisiana Abortion Fund and Dancing
Grounds. She is a steering committee lead with Black Feminist Futures and on the Host
Committee for the Louisiana Center for Children’s Rights Annual Celebration. She has
participated in fellowships such as Emerging Leaders through the Greater New Orleans
Foundation and Leaders of Color.

She is also certified as a trauma-informed yoga practitioner. When she is not thinking about
the liberation of Black people, you will find her browsing homes on Zillow, singing The
Wheels on the Bus with her one-year-old, or begging her partner to make a Pinterest
recipe.
